
Rescue Diver

The Rescue Diver Course is your chance to transform from a capable diver into a true leader underwater — the diver everyone trusts when it matters most.
This exciting, hands-on program will sharpen your awareness, boost your confidence, and give you the ability to prevent and manage dive emergencies. You’ll master rescue techniques, handle challenging scenarios, and learn how to keep yourself and your dive buddies safe — all while having fun and building unforgettable memories.
In this course, you will:

Recognise and respond to diver stress before it becomes a problem

Perform in-water rescues for tired, panicked, or unresponsive divers

Deliver rescue breaths and in-water extractions

Manage dive site emergencies like a pro

Develop self-rescue skills to stay safe while helping others
Through interactive classroom sessions, skill-building in confined water, and realistic open water scenarios, you’ll gain the confidence to handle any diving challenge that comes your way.
Whether you’re planning to go pro or just want to be the best dive buddy possible, this course will make you a safer, stronger, and more respected diver.
Prerequisites:

SDI Advanced Adventure Diver (or equivalent)

Current CPR/First Aid and Oxygen Administration certification (can be taken with the course)

Minimum age: 15
Duration: 2–3 days of skill-packed training.

E-Learning
Start your SDI Divemaster eLearning course and master all the important academic information. You can complete this phase through self-study, at your own pace, in the convenience of your home or office. All eLearning courses work on mobile and tablet devices too.

Confined Water Dives
The next step will be to complete your in-water skill-development training. This takes place in a swimming pool or similar body of confined water, under the supervision of an SDI Instructor.

Open Water Dives
The final step is to complete the required number of training dives under the supervision of your SDI Instructor. Here you will apply what you have learned during your academic and skill-development sessions, while learning practical lessons that can only be gained through real-world experience in open water.

Two Days of Open Water Dives: Put your skills to practise in the open water, building confidence and experience.
Schedule & Requirements
Preset 2-3-day schedule, schedule alternation available at additional cost ($130 per alternation)
Minimum of 2 participants, maximum of 6 participants
If a course does not meet the minimum participant requirement, then the option to join another scheduled course is available.
