Core Open Water Diver Course

Our Core Open Water Diver course offers everything you need to become a certified diver—at a price that makes diving accessible to everyone. It’s a fun, professional, and eco-conscious way to take your first breaths below the surface.
As part of your training, we include your Nitrox (Enriched Air) Certification at no extra cost.
Why it matters:
Nitrox lets you dive longer, recover faster, and explore safer. By reducing nitrogen absorption, enriched air helps minimize post-dive fatigue and extends your time underwater giving you more freedom to enjoy each moment. Starting with both Open Water and Nitrox certifications means you’ll be better equipped from the beginning, with skills that carry you further on every dive.

E-Learning
Start your SDI Open Water Scuba Diver eLearning course and master all the important academic information. You can complete this phase through self-study, at your own pace, in the convenience of your home or office. All eLearning courses work on mobile and tablet devices too.
Pool Training
The next step will be to complete your in-water skill-development training. This takes place in a swimming pool or similar body of confined water, under the supervision of an SDI Instructor.
Open Water Dives
The final step is to complete the required number of SDI Open Water training dives under the supervision of your SDI Instructor. Here you will apply what you have learned during your academic and skill-development sessions, while learning practical lessons that can only be gained through real-world experience in open water.

Full SCUBA Gear Rental: All essential gear is provided, including a BCD, wetsuit, regulator with gauges, and compass.

Self-Paced E-Learning: Complete online modules at your own convenience before hands-on sessions.

Classroom Instruction: Overview of diving basics and safety, preparing you for in-water training.

Pool Session: Practice key skills in a pool environment under instructor guidance.

Two Days of Group Open Water Dives: Experience real open water dives, building confidence with group support.
Schedule & Requirements
Preset 3-day schedule, schedule alternation available at additional cost ($130 per alternation)
Minimum of 2 participants, maximum of 6 participants
If a course does not meet the minimum participant requirement, then the option to join another scheduled course is available. If you are not able to reschedule, then have a look at our Elevated or Elite open water course.
